Being a parent of a wetter

As a some-time wetter in my early years, some deliberate, some accidental, I have become a very laid back parent.

I adopted 2 boys 5 years ago and the younger was quite a regular wetter but had always worn normal underwear and had a soaked bed.

I bought some 11 yr old's nappies and confided in him that I wet too and put one of my own on myself to show him that I was not lying.

He then put one on and for about 2 years wore a nappy, sometimes just at night, sometimes in the day too.

At around 14 he began to wake up dry and ditched the nappies. He's 16 now and doing well at college.

Most kids will grow out of wetting, but a nappy is such a useful piece of clothing. Just make sure that you do not make the child feel like he/she is a baby and the nappy will help mend the underlying problem

As a child I wet the bed from age 5-9.I was presented with diapers and plastic pants to wear. I was rather forced to wear them initially but soon relized tht they were better than a wet bed and easier to hide.
